DC Budgam chairs Block Diwas at Wahabpora in Block Soibugh
Takes stock of developmental works, urges locals for maintaining cleanliness & sanitation
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR BUDGAM, OCTOBER 12: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid today chaired the Block Diwas at Panchayat Halqa Wahabpora in Block Soibugh.
On the occasion, PRIs and other respected from village Wahabpora and other adjacent villages apprised the DC about their demands.
After giving patient hearing to the public, the DC directed the concerned to take up all required works on priority.
Speaking on the occasion, DC directed concerned to ensure work on the left road patch including construction of culvert Between Wahabpora and Bandgam is completed in time to connect the area with Magam.
The DC stressed on coordination between departments and availability of field functionaries on the ground for the general public.

Asserting on cleanliness and sanitation, the DC urged the PRIs and locals to ensure complete ban on single use plastic items and proper garbage disposal. Besides construction of compost and soakage pits for solid waste and liquid waste management.
He emphasized that works related to irrigation, road development and improvement in education and health sectors be executed in a time bound manner for public convenience.
He stressed on strenuous efforts to ensure complete ban on illegal mining and proper pollution control measures are placed at all brick kilns in the area.
On the occasion, various district officers deliberated on schemes and public welfare initiatives and called for massive public participation in these schemes.
The DC directed concerned to organise a joint awareness camp at Wahabpora for awareness of department wise public welfare schemes and self employment initiatives for the general public.
Later, the DC also inspected various ongoing developmental works in the area.
Among others, CEO, CHO, CAO, CAHO, DSHO, BDO, BMO, Engineers from various engineering wings, and other district officers and officials attended the programme.
