Covid-19:-32 travelers among 183 test positive in J&K, tally rises to 8429

 

SRINAGAR JULY(PTK) The number of COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir have reached to 8429 as 183 more infections including 32 travellers were reported on Sunday

Official figures reveals that among new new cases that were detected in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, 42 were tested positive at SKIMS, 20 at JVC Bemina and rest at other hospitals.

Among 183 new cases, 132 belong to Kashmir division while as 51 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 6656 including 3958 recoveries and 118 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached to 1773 including 1297 recoveries and 14 deaths.

They added that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 3042 including 2580 from Kashmir division and 462 from Jammu division.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 59 from Srinagar, 04 from Kulgam, 17 from Baramulla, 01 from Shopian, 03 from Anantnag, 20 from Kupwara, 04 from Pulwama, 19 from Budgam,04 from Bandipora and one from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 51 from Jammu division include 09 from Jammu, two from Udhampur, 7 from Kuthua, 10 from Ramban, 18 from Samba, 02 from Rajouri and 03 from Doda,” officials disclosed.

Professor Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent at SKIMS said that out of 2218 samples tested at SKIMS on Sunday, 42 samples were tested positive.

He said 42 new cases include 18 from Budgam, 09 from Srinagar, 03 from Kupwara, 03 from Kulgam, 02 each from Bandipora, Pulwama, Anantnag, Baramulla and one from Shopian

Dr Reyaz Untoo, Principal at JVC Bemina said that out of 476 samples tested at SKIMS Bemina (JVC) 20 all from Srinagar were tested positive.

He further added that 20 normal deliveries were managed and 30 major surgeries were conducted at hospital till date.

As per officials figures, 1151 positive cases including 31 deaths and 423 recoveries are from Srinagar, 1023 including 23 deaths and 439 recoveries are from Baramulla, 859 including 598 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Kulgam, 849 including 13 deaths and 611 recoveries are from Shopian, 720 including 11 deaths and 564 recoveries are from Anantnag, 604 including 429 recoveries and 07 deaths are from Kupwara, 538 including 267 recoveries and 04 deaths are from Pulwama, 486 including 274 recoveries and 09 death are from Budgam, 307 including 279 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Bandipora, 119 including 74 recoveries and 01 death are from Ganderbal.

In Jammu division, 397 including 301 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Jammu district, 290 including 207 recoveries and 01 death are from Udhampur, 249 including 188 recoveries and 01 death are from Kathua, 236 including 187 recoveries are from Ramban, 186 including 120 recoveries from Samba, 124 including 113 recoveries and 01 death are from Poonch, 124 including 01 death and 68 recoveries are from Rajouri, 93 including 60 recoveries and 02 death are from Doda, 45 including 32 recoveries are from Reasi and 29 including 21 recoveries are from Kishtwar.

As per the daily information bulletin, 296,591 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 40,149 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 3042 persons are in hospital isolation while 42 persons are under hospital quarantine.

According to the bulletin, 207,466 persons have completed surveillance period and 45,780 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 399,385 samples are available.

Out of 399,385 the number of samples tested negative stands at 390,956 while as 8429 have been tested positive, among them 3042 are active and 5255 persons have recovered and 132 persons have died
