Congress questions hurried transfers, postings in R&B, asks Govt to rescind order.

Srinagar March 27, (PTK). The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) while reacting to the hurried transfers and postings in R&B, sought immediate rescinding of these transfers citing the reason as closure of the current financial year, besides the complete lock down in wake of Pandemic Covid-19.

Referring to the transfers and posting of I/C Assistant Executive Engineers, Junior Engineers and Draftsmen under order Nos. 118- PW (R&B) of 2020, dtd. 13-03-2020 & 119-PW(R&B) of 2020 dated 13-03-2020 in R&B, subsequently the readjustment of blue-eyed officials, the Party Spokesperson expressed surprise over the Govt move of effecting the transfers unceremoniously amidst the closure of the financial year.

The department has also relieved the transferee with immediate effect thereby not providing them any opportunity to explain their position and the problems they were confronted with, which is more bizarre and a step taken in haste, deserves to be rescinded in the interest of smooth functioning of department, Party Spokesperson said.

The orders issued by the R&B is questionable, it has to explain as to what was the immediate need of effecting these transfers that too at the mid of the current month (March 2020),  Spokesperson said.

He said the Govt  has issued orders on 13th of this month, in the meanwhile the entire country  was locked down in wake of the pandemic Covid 19 threat as a result the transferee/ relieved officials could not reach their  new place of postings, leaving them in a chaotic situation, they wont even be able to withdraw their salaries, Spokesperson said.

Congress leadership was approached by various officials to this effect seeking redressal of their grievances, Party Spokesperson said  and questioned the reported readjustment of the blue eyed officials on their previous place of posting which speaks volumes to which the Lt. Governor Administration must take a serious note  inorder to ascertain as to what was going on in the R&B Department, Spokesperson added.

J&K Pradesh Congress Committee has urged the Lt. Governor Administration to look into the matter and direct the R&B Department to rescind the orders so issued by it on March 13, 2020, as that will only ensure smooth functioning of the Department.(ptk)
