CM Omar Abdullah Inaugurates India Golf Carnival 2026 at Royal Springs Golf Course
Srinagar, May 11 (PTK): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday inaugurated the India Golf Carnival 2026 at the iconic Royal Springs Golf Course in Srinagar, highlighting the immense tourism and sporting potential of Kashmir’s world-class golf destinations.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister expressed delight over hosting the prestigious golf event in the Valley and said that Kashmir’s scenic golf courses have the potential to significantly boost tourism while showcasing the region’s breathtaking natural beauty to visitors from across the country and abroad.
He stated that events like the India Golf Carnival not only promote sports tourism but also create opportunities for local youth to participate in and excel at professional sporting platforms.
“Kashmir’s world-class golf courses possess tremendous potential to strengthen tourism, promote our natural heritage and inspire young talent in sports,” the Chief Minister said.
The event witnessed participation from golf enthusiasts, sports personalities, tourism stakeholders and visitors, reflecting growing interest in golf tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials said the carnival is expected to further enhance the Valley’s reputation as a premier destination for adventure, leisure and sports tourism.(PTK)
