Budgam Police observed Anti-terrorism Day

Press Trust O Kashmir | Budgam: Budgam Police observed Anti-terrorism Day at all Police establishments of District Police Budgam .Official said that main function was held at DPL Budgam wherein SSP Budgam Shri Tahir Saleem-JKPS conferred Pledge to officers/jawans of District Police Lines Budgam.

Anti-Terrorism Day is observed on May 21 in India every year. The objective behind the observance of this day is to wean away from the youth from terrorism and the cult of violence by highlighting the suffering of common people and showing how it is prejudicial to the national interest.

The Enforcement Wing of Lakes and Waterways Development Authority in its continuous drive to stop the menace of illegal construction, carried out a demolition drive today on 20.05.2021 and demolished a single storey house at Nageen,

shops at Ranger Stop, Saida Kadal, residential houses at Saida Kadal and Jogi Lanker under the supervision of Enforcement Officer, LDA.

The Vice Chairman, LDA Dr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat (IRS) also supervised the demolition drive.

The violators are taking advantage of the Covid lockdown and continue with the raising of illegal structures. However, the Enforcement Wing despite the lockdown has been trying its best to stop this menace. The Vice Chairman,

LDA has appealed the people living within the jurisdiction of the Authority not to take any illegal construction in the prohibited area and warned of stern action against the violators as warranted under law.

 He urged the people to come forth with information if they find any such illegal activity is taking place in their respective areas. 

Seeking public cooperation in saving the Dal and Nigeen lakes from falling prey to encroachers, Lakes and Waterways Development Authority on Thursday said stern action would be taken against those raising illegal constructions by taking advantage of the present obtaining situation.

He also appealed the people who want to construct their houses in permissible areas to apply before the Authority for building permission and desist from raising any illegal structure without permission.(PTK)
