BJP Slams NC for Failing to Learn Lessons from 2014 Floods.Er.Sahil Bashir Bhat

Srinagar, Aug 4(PTK): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today strongly criticized the National Conference (NC) for its repeated failures in disaster preparedness, accusing the party of ignoring the lessons from the devastating 2014 floods and once again leaving people of Jammu and Kashmir to suffer during the recent flood-like situation.
BJP spokesperson Er. Sahil Bashir Bhat said that while the NC-led administration remained “in deep slumber,” BJP leaders and workers were actively present on the ground, extending timely assistance to the affected families across J&K.
“Despite having a large number of legislators, NC never came forward to contribute even from their Constituency Development Fund (CDF) towards relief measures. On the other hand, BJP leaders personally reached out to victims, provided essential support, and ensured that help reached where it was needed most. This stark contrast proves one thing: BJP has always stood firmly with the people in their times of crisis, while NC has abandoned them,” Bhat said.
He reminded that the 2014 deluge had exposed the inefficiency and lack of vision of the NC government. “Unfortunately, nothing has changed. Even today, NC has failed to build a proper mechanism to deal with recurring floods. This negligence is unacceptable, and the people of J&K deserve far better,” he added.
Bhat emphasized the urgent need for a comprehensive flood management strategy, proper utilization of funds, and accountability in governance. “Recurring natural disasters cannot be met with casualness. BJP stands committed to ensuring preparedness, accountability, and a people-first approach in governance. NC’s repeated failures only highlight their apathy towards the people,” he said.
The BJP reaffirmed that it will continue to expose the failures of NC and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the people of Jammu and Kashmir during every crisis. (PTK)
