Balhama gets tune of Rs 6 Cr Developmental projects

Construction of PHC for tune of 3.85 Cr, Rs 1.80 Cr for Community Hall, Funds earmarked for Shrine,Visitor house for Temple, DC Sgr issues on sport instructions; says admin committed to convert Balhama into Mushroom village; local participants demand decrease in power tariff; DDC member hails District Admin’s spot directions

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SRINAGAR NOV 23: Hundreds of people participated in block diwas program in Balhama area of Srinagar on Wednesday that received a major boost of Rs 6 Cr for various developmental activities while as district administration reiterated its commitment to convert Balhama into Mushroom village.

Scores of enthusiastic people from Zafran Colony, Balhama, Zewan, Khonmoh and other adjoining villages participated in block diwas program at Balhama and put forth their demands. Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Muhammad Aijaz Asad, DDC member Khonmoh Er Aijaz Hussain, Chief Planning Officer Yaseen Ahmad Chief Agriculture Officer and besides other officers from RDD , PHE , R&B , Revenue officials also participated in the program.

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar announced Rs 6 Crore for the various developmental projects of Balhama that includes Rs 3.85 Cr for PHC, Rs 1.80 Cr for Community Hall, and lakhs of rupees for Trust of a shrine and development of the Temple trust.

Locals participating in the area complained hike in power tariff and demanded immediate relaxation stating that they have received Rs 1380 monthly power bills which were too high to pay. DC Srinagar assured them that the matter will be taken up with the concerned authorities. Meanwhile, DDC member Khonmoh Er Aijaz Assad hailed the district administration Srinagar for issuing on the spot directions and giving a patient hearing to the peoples’ demands.

Later, DC Srinagar along with DDC Member visited Balhama Mushroom unit and met female entrepreneurs there. Pertinently, there are already 60 Mushroom units working in Balhama area. District administration Srinagar reiterated that it was committed to convert Balhama into model Mushroom village of Balhama.
