Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: IM GDC Shopian organises “Patriotic Song Competition”

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SHOPIAN, AUGUST 04:  As part of the action plan in run up to the 75th Independence Day celebration under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the IM GDC Shopian today organised a “Patriotic Song Competition” at Conference Hall of Science Block of the college, here.

The objective of the competition was to inculcate patriotic fervor among students. Around 20 students from GDC Shopian and GDC Zaina Pora participated in the competition.

Professor M.Y. Baba was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Prof Mahmood Ahmad Tak and Prof. Mohd Younis Bhat from Cultural Committee of GDC Shopian were appointed as judges for the competition by College Administration. On the assessment of judges Danish Rehman from GDC Shopian was declared as winner of the competition, while Jozey Majeed from GDC Zainapora was declared as runner up.

Dr. Umar Farooq conducted the proceedings of the competition. The programme was jointly coordinated by NSS, NCC, Cultural Committee and Physical Education Department.
