Arun Kumar Mehta Appointed New Chief Secretary Of J&K
Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar : Arun Kumar Mehta (IAS) has been appointed a new Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir.
In this regard Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla in an order issued here, said that Mehta will take over as Chief Secretary, J&K from the date that B.V.R. Subrahmanyam relinquishes the charge, and until further orders.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), vide its order dated 27.05.2021, has approved the appointment of B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, IAS (CG: 1987), Chief Secretary, Jammu & Kashmir (J&K), as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Department of Commerce, Government of India.

The ACC has also approved his appointment as Secretary, Department of Commerce, upon the superannuation of the present incumbent on 30.06.2021, reads the order.
Pursuant to the order, the order said that it has been decided with the approval of the Competent Authority that Arun Kumar Mehta, IAS (AGMUT: 1988) will take over as Chief Secretary, J&K from the date that B.V.R. Subrahmanyam relinquishes the charge, and until further orders.
“Orders to this effect may be issued by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir,” the order added(PTK).

Pess trust of kashmir | SRINAGAR: Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Thursday has underscored the need for the mass public awareness about COVID-19 vaccination among the rural populace of Jammu and Kashmir so that the curve could be flattened and human lives are saved without delay.
Kadfeen said there are reports coming to the fore that the rural masses are hesitant in getting vaccinated and there are scores of rumors being circulated among them about the COVID-19 jabs. Kadfeen said that as the population hailing from the countryside has least access to modern technologies and information,
it is high time for the government to understand the gravity of the situation and devise a well planned strategy to get the fears out of the minds of the people.

He added that the government can well put in service the traditional media platforms to address and eradicate the doubts and mis-conceptions related to the vaccines in rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
Kadfeen said that after cities and towns, the deadly virus has begun to show its spike in rural areas and that it is high time for the government to reach out to the masses and make them aware about the vaccine efficacy and how by getting jabs, they could keep the disease at bay. (PTK)
