ADC Bhaderwah Reviews Preparations for Lavender Festival 2026

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh to Inaugurate Two-Day Event on June 6

Bhaderwah, June 5 (PTK): Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bhaderwah, Sunil Kumar Bhutyal, on Thursday chaired a review meeting to assess arrangements for the upcoming Lavender Festival 2026, scheduled to be held on June 6 and 7 at the Government Degree College (GDC) Playground, Bhaderwah.

During the meeting, officials informed that Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh will inaugurate the two-day festival on June 6. The event is expected to witness participation from a large number of visitors, farmers, entrepreneurs, scientists and stakeholders associated with the rapidly growing lavender industry.

The ADC conducted a comprehensive review of preparations related to venue management, security arrangements, traffic regulation, sanitation, healthcare facilities, drinking water supply, electricity, fire safety and other essential services required for the smooth conduct of the festival.

Emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts among departments, Bhutyal directed all concerned officers to ensure that necessary arrangements are put in place well in advance and that visitors are provided adequate facilities throughout the event.

He stressed that the Lavender Festival has emerged as a significant platform for promoting lavender cultivation, agri-entrepreneurship and rural livelihoods in the region, making it essential for all departments to work in close coordination for its successful organization.

The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officer, Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA), Sanjeev Sharma; Tehsildar Kamalpreet Singh; SDPO Naveed Shokat Qazi; Treasury Officer Manmit Ganjoo; Executive Officer Municipality Ravi Sani; and noted lavender entrepreneur Touqeer Bagwan, popularly known as the “Lavender Man of India.”

Officials and representatives from the Departments of Agriculture, Horticulture, Health, Roads & Buildings (R&B), Power Development, Public Health Engineering (PHE), Fire & Emergency Services, Tourism and other concerned departments were also present.

The festival is expected to showcase the success of lavender cultivation initiatives in Bhaderwah and provide opportunities for interaction among farmers, scientists, industry experts and entrepreneurs working in the aromatic and medicinal plant sector.(PTK)
