Army greets people on Eid ul Fitr

Says hopeful this festival will bring peace in Kashmir

Press Trust of Kashmir |Srinagar :  Army on Tuesday greeted people on the occasion of Eid-ul-fitr and hoped that this occasion will bring joy among the people and peace in J&K

An official said that on the occasion of *Eidul Fitr* we take this opportunity to inspire people of kashmir to Work in *peace and harmony* and pursue it wholeheartedly While Operation Sadbhavana continues to remain a flagship program of Army *Aiming at winning ‘Hearts and Minds of Kashmiris*, Army on Tuesday on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr festival was seen distributing sweets among locals in various parts of the Valley.

He said keeping in mind our endeavours to bond with the awam and create a positive atmosphere amoung the locals to grow and progress in the correct direction, DODARHAMA, LAR, GUTHLIBAG, BADAMPORA, DANGERPORA, CHAKIDARA AND SUMBAL COB organised Eid celebrations on this day.

24 RR also carried out khariyat patrols to the remote villages and distributed sweets & greeted people on the special occasion outside the mosques,Camps and on roads, something never seen in the contemporary years, he said

“The Ganderbal Based Camp of Army distributed sweets at orphanages and to locals to celebrate the auspicious occasion,a very thoughtful gesture aimed at harmonious integration of Jawan and Awaam in the region, he added.

Chakidara Army camp had made arrangements for distribution of sweets to the children, tea for villagers and elder with special arrangements for traditional Eid savories. The Army Camps of Badampora, Qasbalar and Gutlibagh had also made similar arrangements for the people in these areas, he added further.
