Amid rains, temperature increases in kashmir
Srinagar Mar 07 (PTK) :The minimum temperatures increased in Kashmir Valley amid forecast for rains in plains and snowfall in upper reaches, officials said on Sunday.
A meteorological department official said that Srinagar recorded a low of 7.0°C against 4.2°C on the previous night. The temperature was 3.3°C above normal for this time of the year in this summer capital, the official said.
Qazigund recorded a low of 4.3°C against 1.5°C on the previous night while the mercury settled at 3.2°C at the famous resort of Pahalgam against minus 1.8°°C on the earlier night.
Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, recorded a low of 3.6°C against 2.5°C on the previous night.
The minimum temperature settled at 5.2°C in Kupwara against 0.1°C on the previous night, the official said.
Gulmarg, the world famous skiing resort, recorded a minimum temperature of minus 0.7°C against minus 3.0°C on the previous night. (PTK)
