Altaf Thakur, Sajad Raina visits far-flung areas of Tral, meets Gujjar community members

Srinagar Mar 03 (PTK): Assures all possible support, timely grievance redressal system, says BJP committed to reach poorest of poor in J&K

Tral, Feb 3: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesman Altaf Thakur Wednesday visited the far-flung areas including Doodmarg in Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama to take stock of the issues confronting Gujjar and Bakerwal community and to ensure timely redressal of their issues.

In a brief statement issued here, Altaf Thakur along with BJP’s district president for Pulwama, Sajad Raina, visited remote areas of Tral including Doodmarg where Gujjar community members are putting up in large numbers and talked at length with the Gujjar and Bakerwal community members to get firsthand account of the issues confronting them.

“The members from the Gujjar community apprised us of series of issued that include making available drinking water, kerosene and proper shelter, especially during winter months,” Thakur said, adding that elderly Gujjar women complained of non-availability of washrooms for the women folk.

He said that the BJP leaders gave a patient hearing to the Gujjar community members and assured them all the possible support. “We also assured the Gujar community members that their issues will be taken up with the concerned officials for the timely redressal of their grievances,” Thakur said, adding that BJP will pursue the issue of proper shelter for the cattle of Gujjar community members besides setting of female toilets in Doodmarg area of Tral.

Thakur said that they also took stock of the power facility and tap water in the village and assured the residents and issues related to electricity and water facility will be addressed on priority in the days to come. Thakurs said that BJP is committed to reach out to the poorest of the poor in J&K and the country as announced by the Prime Minister Narendera Modi. Thakur said that BJP leaders will continue to visit far-flung areas of J&K and ensure governance is taken to its logical end. (PTK)
