Pertinent to mention here that the Aspirational Blocks Development Programme (ABDP) was conceived with an idea to identify the most backward blocks of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir which require special focus and bring them at par with other blocks.
A unique area specific initiative is required with the aim of achieving holistic development of these most backward blocks in the UT of J&K.
The DC said that the Programme shall improve access to the population of these blocks and consequently bring improvement in living conditions of the people. This will be a move forward towards inclusive development which is long overdue. The programme is expected to usher in a new era of development in these blocks.
Speaking on the occasion, the CAHO informed that the Department is working to uplift the socio-economic status of farmers and further assured that full co-operation shall be extended by the Department for delivering the benefits extended under different schemes for increasing the production and doubling the farmers’ income.
