Additional Secretary, SWD visits Sumbal; distributes sanction letters for establishment of Sheep, Dairy Units

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR BANDIPORA, DECEMBER 05: The second phase of My Town, My Pride started today with much fanfare  at Sumbal subdivision of the district where Additional Secretary, Social Welfare Department (SWD) visited as Visiting Officer on a two day mission.

The officer early in the morning inspected the stalls showcasing the different programmes and products of the govt. He thereafter interacted with frontline workers of the departments and was apprised about the various Development initiatives taken up.

Later, delegations, prominent citizens, and the public put up issues of public importance confronting the town ranging from better drainage systems, public amenities to building sports infrastructure for the youth.

On the occasion, cultural activities enthralled the massive public which participated with great enthusiasm.

Day one also witnessed speeches about drug addictions and painting competitions which informed the masses about the harmful ramifications of the drug addictions and role of the multi sectoral initiatives in curbing the same. Sports activities, especially Tug of War, were also held by the department of education.

Sanction letters for establishment of various Sheep dairy units were provided to beneficiaries along with distribution of land passbooks by the Visiting officer.

Nodal Officer Coordination, Mohd Ashraf Hakak; SDM Sumbal Bashir Ahmad Lone; DIO, Showkat Hussain Ganie; DSWO, Ubaid Ul Khazir among other district and sub divisional level officers and officials were present.
