Mirwaiz North Kashmir Condemns Assassination of Hamas Leader Dr Mohammad Ismail Haniyeh

Srinagar, August 02: Mirwaiz North Kashmir and Chairman Muslim Mutahida Mahaaz J&K Moulana Parray Hassan Afzal Firdousi has strongly condemned the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Dr Ismail Haniyeh, which occurred in Tehran, Iran, on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. He described the killing as a “provocative act” with the potential to escalate regional tensions.

In his Message Mirwaiz Hassan Firdousi said “Innalillahi wainnailaihi raji’un. I extend my condolences on the passing of the late Dr Ismail Haniyeh. He was Former Prime Minister of Palestine. He had strong leadership in Palestine and Tehran.”

Haniyeh, who has lived in Qatar for the rest of his life, has been the face of Hamas’ international diplomacy amid the ongoing Israeli onslaught in Gaza. Dr Haniyeh always expressed his desire to achieve peace and a fair resolution in Palestine , said Mirwaiz Hassan Firdousi

Mirwaiz Hassan Firdousi also said that his assassination is feared to hinder ceasefire negotiations between Hamas and Israel. He said conscientious people worldwide should reject Israel’s occupation of Palestinian land.

While quoting the brutality of Israeli forces in Gaza Mirwaiz Hassan Firdousi said according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, at least 38,183 people have been killed , 12300 children also got killed and 77,084 have been wounded in Israeli attacks in the last four months ..Many residential areas across Gaza have been destroyed and ruined by relentless bombing. At least 75,000 tonnes of explosives have been dropped on Gaza by Israeli forces,.
The silence of UNO, UNSC and World Leadership is Condemnable , he added

Meanwhile, his plea serves up a wake-up call to Global Leaders urging them to Prioritize the Resolution of the
Palestine -Israeli Conflict as a matter of utmost urgency . “The stakes are undeniably high and the world can’t afford to underestimate the potential consequences of allowing this situation to fester,” he said.
