Assets worth hundreds of crores of banned Jamaat-e-Islami identified by SIA in Shopian

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SRINAGAR NOV 10:- State Investigation Agency (SIA) had recovered huge assets worth Rs 2,58,03,333 crore belonging to the banned group Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

Properties at nine locations were sealed by the SIA after being notified by DM Shopian.

The SIA has restricted the usage and entry into the properties and they have been sealed.

The properties belonging to banned JeI in the Shopian district of South Kashmir have been sealed in order to stifle the availability of funds for secessionist activities and to dismantle the ecosystem of anti-national elements and terror networks hostile to India’s sovereignty.

“Whereas, the State Investigation Agency, Kashmir vide communication No. SIA/FIR-17-19/22/7010-14; dated: 05.11.2022 has intimated that during investigation of case FIR No. 17/2019 u/s 10, 11 & 13 UA(P) Act of P/S Batamaloo now being investigated by P/S SIA, below mentioned nine (09) properties have surfaced that are owned by and under possession of banned association Jamat-e-Islami and are located in the jurisdiction of district Shopian and are to be notified in terms of section 8 UA(P) Act.” Reads the notification.

“Land measuring 02 Kanal 15 Marla in village Batpora under survey No. 291 mutated in the name of Jamat-e-Islami through its Ameer-e-Zilla Abdul Hameed S/O Mohammad Yaseen Ganai R/O Nadigam Shopian vide mutation No. 1598, Land measuring 07 Marla in village Batpora under survey No. 288 mutated in the name of Jamat-e-Islami through its Ameer-e-Zilla Shahzada Aurangzeb S/O Hakeem Ghulam Nabi Shah R/O Chitragam vide mutation No. 1929, Land measuring 07 Marla 03 Sarsai in village Batpora under survey No. 813/289 mutated in the name of Jamat-e-Islami through its Ameer-e-Zilla Aurangzeb S/O Hakeem Ghulam Nabi Shah R/O Chitragam vide mutation No. 2008, Land measuring 16 Marla & 07 Marla in village Batpora under S No. 693/290 mutated in the name of Jamat-i-Islami through its Ameer-e-Zilla Shahzada Aurangzeb S/O Hakeem Ghulam Nabi Shah R/O Chitragam vide mutation No.’s 1887 & 1413, Under construction building over land 1 Kanal & 7 Marla in village Batpora under survey No. 293 mutated in the name of Jamat e Islami through its Ameer-e-Zilla Shahzada Aurangzeb S/o Hakeem Ghulam Nabi Shah R/o Chitragam mutation No. Nil (Waqf) and Land measuring 17 Marla in village Batpora under survey No. 292 in the name of Jamat-e-Islami through its Ameer-e-Zilla Mohammad Sultan S/o Mahda Wani R/O Nownagari Tral vide mutation No. 1413.” It adds.

Land measuring 17 Marla in village Heepora Batagund under survey No. 199 in the name Jamat-e-Islami through its Ameer-e-Zilla Shahzada Aurangzeb S/o Hakeem Ghulam Nabi Shah R/o Chitragam vide mutation No. 622.

“02 storey yet to be functional School building of Jamat-e-Islami over land measuring 01 Kanal & 08 Marla in village Bongam under survey No. 418 min in the name of Iqra Public School through Falah-i-Aam Trust, Shopian vide mutation No. Nil (Possession only). 9. Four storey building over land measuring 04 Marla & 02 Marla in village Kanipora/Batpora under survey No. 24 Min & 2min respectively in the name of Jamat-e-Islami J&K, Shopian vide mutation No. Nil (possession only).” It adds.

“Whereas, upon obtaining the report from concerned Tehsildar and after perusal of Revenue Record pertaining to the above properties, it was found that these properties are owned by and/or under possession of banned Jamat-e-Islami association through their members.” It adds.

“Whereas, on perusal of the records and other connected documents, I. District Magistrate Shopian, am satisfied that there is sufficient material to notify the above mentioned properties under the said Act. Now, therefore, by virtue of notification issued by the Central Government coupled with notification issued by the J&K Government and powers vested ir me in terms of section 8 of UA(P) Act, I, Sachin Kumar Vaishya (IAS) Distric Magistrate, Shopian do hereby notify the above mentioned properties in terms of section 8 of UA(P) Act 1967, are owned by and/or under possession of bannec association Jamat-e-Islami, thereby prohibiting/restricting the entry into anc usage of these properties by any person(s), association(s) or legal entity other than investigating officers of SIA for the purpose of investigation and police officers having jurisdiction for the purpose of enforcing the usage relatec prohibition and restrictions ordered in the notification.” It adds further
