Covid-19:- 14 cops, pregnant lady among 62 test positive in J&K, tally climbs to 1183

 

Saringar May 17 ( PTK) With another big spike in number of positive covid-19 in J&K Union Territory on Sunday, the total number of positive cases have reached to 1183

Officials said in last 24 hours 62 new cases were tested positive in J&K, among them 16 belong to Jammu division and 46 belong to Kashmir division.

They said among new 62 cases, 15 belong to Anantnag, 28 to Kulgam and 1 each from Pulwama, Shopian and Srinagar.

They further added that 33 were tested positive at Army’s Command Hospital Udhampur, 6 at SKIMS, 16 at CD hospital and rest at Private Lab Srinagar

Dr G H Yatoo Nodal officer for coranavirus at SKIMS said that out of 1466 tested on Sunday 06 were found positive while as 1460 samples were found negative.

He further added that among twenty seven new cases, 10 are from Jammu travellers, 12 from Kupwara, 03 from Anantnag and one each from Baramulla and Budgam.

Dr Salim Khan Nodal officer for Coronavirus at GMC Srinagar said that out of 642 samples tested in last 24 hours at CD hospital, 16 were found positive.

Among the 16 new cases, 14 cops and a pregnant lady were found from Anantnag district while as 3 other is from Bemina area of Srinagar.

“The 14 cops include 35-year-old from Arhama Ganderbal, 40-year-old from Aham Sharief Sopore, 28-year-old from Sopore, 43-year-old from Kadipora Anantnag, 41-year-old from Katainwat Baramulla, 41-year-old from Titwal Karnah Kupwara, 45-year-old from Malpora Anantnag, 45-year-old from Monghall Anantnag, 31-year-old from Hardu Schin Anantnag, 43-year-old from Nanil Anantnag, 27-year-old from Inderwaim Sagam Anantnag, 26-year-old from Srangoo Pahalgam, 45-year-old from Khalura Kupwara and one from Khayar Anantnag besides a 35-year-old pregnant lady from Nard Sanger Larnoo Anantna,” he said

Lt Col Inam Danish Khan from Army command hospital Udhampur said that 33 travellers from Kulgam and Ramban were tested positive at the lab.

Meanwhile Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday witnessed 12th death due to covid-19 as 29 year old woman from Habba Kadal died at CD hospital.

Head of Department at Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar Dr Naveed said that a 29 year old lady from Habba Kadal Srinagar who was tested positive for covid-19 on Friday died at CD hospital.

“A 29 year old female from Habba Kadal Srinagar who was previously operated in SMHS Hospital Srinagar by ENT surgeons for Ludwig’s Angina (submandibular abscess) and mediastinitis and had septic shock, was shufted in Surgical ICU there and tested positive for COVID-19, was shifted to CD Hospital two days back, died today afternoon at CD Hospital Srinagar,” Said Dr Salim Khan Nodal officer for covid-19 at GMC Srinagar

With her death, the death toll due to covid-19 has reached to 13 in J&K including 11 from Kashmir division and 2 from jammu division

As per officials figures 177 positive cases including one deaths and 35 recoveries are from Anantnag, 157 including five deaths and 96 recoveries are from Srinagar, 135 including one death and 125 recoveries are from Bandipora, 147 including and 9 recoveries are from Kulgam, 118 including 80 recoveries are from Baramulla, 108 including 75 recoveries are from Shopian, 97 including 48 recoveries are from Kupwara, 57 including 28 recoveries are from Budgam, 23 including 14 recoveries are from Ganderbal and 16 including 5 recoveries are from Pulwama.

In Jammu division, 45 including 27 recoveries and one death are from Jammu district , 25 including one death and 19 recoveries are from Udhampur, 32 including one recovery are from Kuthua, 13 including 6 recoveries from Samba, 23 including 1 recovery from Ramban, 5 including four recoveries from Rajouri, 3 including one recovery from Reasi and one who has already recovered is from Kishtwar while as Poonch witnessed ist case on sunday.

As per the daily information bulletin 111,368 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 29,442 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 595 persons are in hospital isolation while as 105 persons are under hospital quarantine.

According to the bulletin, 65,788 persons have completed surveillance period and 15,425 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 80,934 samples are available.

Out of 80,934 the number of samples tested negative stands at 79,751 while as 1183 have been tested positive, among them 595 are active and 575 persons have recovered and 13 persons have died.(PTK)
