MVD Reasi seizes 12 vehicles, E-Challanes 21 for violation of rules

REASI, JUNE 19(PTK): Acting on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik and Higher authorities from the transport department, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Reasi today carried out a comprehensive enforcement drive at Katra and Balani.

The drive was a direct follow-up to the complaints of citizens during the recent Public Grievances Redressal Camp about unauthorized auto operations and traffic violations.

During the operation, the MVD team checked 130 vehicles and e-challaned 21 for various violations.

Special focus was placed on unauthorized and document-deficient auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws. As a result, 12 such vehicles were seized for non-compliance. Additionally, 7 driving licenses were recommended for suspension, and a fine of ₹1.55 lakh was imposed on violators. The drive was conducted under the supervision of ARTO Neeraj Sharma, along with MVI Tushar Anthal, AMVI  Surinder Rana and MVTA Sikander. (PTK)
