KPDCL Announces Power Shutdown in Several Areas of Kashmir

Srinagar, May 11 (PTK): Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in several parts of Kashmir due to maintenance and repair works on various transmission lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution KPDCL, shutdown of the 33 KV Habbak–Zakura–Burzhama line will be observed on May 17, 2026, due to which power supply to Zakura, Batpora, Gulabagh, Burzhama, Chaterhama, Tailbal, Danihama, Khimber, Shuperbagh and adjoining areas will remain affected from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Similarly, shutdown of the 33 KV Cheshmashahi–Brein–Nishat line and Cheshmashahi–Shalimar line/Nishat Tap line will affect power supply to Dalbund, Brein, Tulip Garden, Pahloo, Taj Vivanta, BSNL, Nishat, Foreshore, Pathanbagh, Filtration Plant and adjoining areas from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM on May 13 and 19, 2026.

KPDCL further informed that shutdown of the 33 KV Cheshmashahi–Buchwara line on May 12, 2026, will affect power supply to BB-Cant Tap line, Nehru Park, Dalgate, Dal, Zabarwan and adjoining areas from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Likewise, shutdown of the 33 KV Cheshmashahi–TRC–Nedous line/Rajbagh Tap line on May 13, 2026, will disrupt power supply to TRC, Nedous, Sonwar, Zabarwan, Dalgate and adjoining areas during the same hours.

In another major shutdown, the 220/132/33 KV GSS Delina station will remain shut on May 15, 2026, due to which power supply to several areas of Sopore, Baramulla, Uri, Kunzer, Beerwah, Khag and adjoining localities will remain affected from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM.

The affected areas include Sopore Town, Baramulla Town, DC Office Baramulla, GMC Baramulla, Delina, Kreeri, Wagoora, Kunzer, Tarzoo, Hygam, Arampora, Watlab, Warpora, Dooru, Reban, Fruit Mandi, Chandoosa, Boniyar, Sheeri, Magam, Mazhama, Beerwah, Arizal, Khag and several adjoining areas.

KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected areas to cooperate during the shutdown period undertaken for essential maintenance works.(PTK)
