Dialgam Village Launches 2nd Edition of Intra Dialgam Cricket League to Combat Drug Abuse

Anantnag,03July: In a unique initiative to tackle drug abuse, Dialgam Village in Anantnag district commenced the 2nd Edition of the Intra Dialgam Cricket League today.

The event, organized by village resident Zubair Bashir, aims to raise awareness about the drug menace and promote a healthy lifestyle. The tournament has brought together professionals from various fields, including government officials, sports personalities, and entrepreneurs.

Twelve teams from different mohallas and colonies are participating in the cricket league. The main objective of organizing the tournament is to “keep Dialgam Village youth away from social evils.”

At the inaugural ceremony of the tournament, guests included Mohd Amin Sheikh (President Awkaf Committee Dialgam), Sheikh Naseer Ahmad, Abdul Rasheed Ahanger, and Abdul Rasheed Bhat. They lauded the participating teams for their involvement in the league and praised the organizers for such initiatives, urging for more events like this in the future.

Dialgam residents consistently promote sports, especially through the local Awkaf Body, which organizes programs to keep young people away from drugs. The village is now preparing for an exciting series of matches expected to leave a lasting impact in the fight against drugs.

The cricket league has already generated a lot of enthusiasm and zeal among the youth.
