Unwell prisoner from Kulgam dies in Anantnag
Sarinagar Nov, 09 (PTK) A prisoner died under mysterious circumstances at District Jail of Anantnag in South Kashmir.
An official said that Shahzad Ahmed Wani, aged around 45, who is a resident of Shalipora area in Kulgam district of South Kashmir died during his lodgement in Mattan Jail in Anantnag.
His body has been shifted to District hospital in Anantnag for medico- legal formalities.
DiG Prisons Mohammed Sultan lone said that Shahzad died of illness as he had been keeping unwell for quite a while.
“He had been brought to the hospital several times as his health deteriorated many times during the past few days,” He added.
Pertinently Wani was arrested after suspected militants killed five non local labourers in Kathroosu Kulgam on 29 oct last year.(PTK)
