24 RR conducts Cleanliness drive at wangath Kangan*
Senior Citizens Appreciated Army move about such initiatives
Ganderbal Nov, 09 (PTK) The 24 RR Wangat COB conducted a cleanliness drive under Swachh Bharat Mission at Wangat Village of Ganderbal
The campaign has been started with an awareness lecture to make the villagers and students aware about plastic free zone, waste disposal management and to motivate locals to adopt cleanliness measures. The local actively participated in cleanliness drive and contributed whole heartedly towards the social cause.
The students were educated about the benefits of cleanliness, prevention of various communicable diseases and the threat of epidemic due to unhealthy and unhygienic environment. Students were encouraged to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in their homes and surrounding areas. Students took a vow to throw garbage at nominated places only and keep their surrounding area clean.
According to PTK, A team of Army and civil medical doctors provided quality medical treatment and free medicines. A health awareness campaign was also conducted at the venue to discuss issues about hygiene, sanitation, diseases and drug abuse.
The Indian army latter distributed eatable among the children who participated positively in this Cleanliness drive.
Meanwhile the locals paid very postive response towards this effort of indian army.(PTK)
