Winter Vacation Extended for Schools in Kashmir
SRINAGAR PTK : The Jammu and Kashmir administration has taken the decision to extend the winter vacation for schools until March 4th.
This announcement comes as a precautionary measure in response to the weather forecast indicating heavy snowfall in the region. According to officials, schools up to the secondary level will resume classes on March 4th, allowing students and staff additional time to prepare for the expected inclement weather.
The Directorate of School Education issued an order stating, “In view of the weather advisory issued by the Meteorological Department predicting heavy snowfall in the valley, it is hereby ordered that classwork in all government and recognized private schools of the Kashmir Division up to the higher secondary level shall commence from 4th March 2024.”
Originally scheduled to conclude on March 1st, the winter vacation, which began in early December, has been extended to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff members during potentially challenging weather conditions.
The decision to extend the winter vacation underscores the administration’s commitment to prioritizing the safety of students and ensuring optimal learning conditions in Kashmir’s educational institutions.
