Two hybrid militants arrested in Shopian:- Police

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SRINAGAR SEP 07 :- Shopian police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two hybrid militants in Trenz, area of the district.
In a statement police said that based on the specific input, a joint checkpoint was laid by Police shopian, 44RR and CRPF 178 at village Trenz Shopian.
During Checking of vehicles and frisking of pedestrians, movement of 02 suspected persons was noticed who on being challenged to stop started fleeing away from the spot but were chased and apprehended tactfully by the alert joint check point parties, Police said.

On questioning they disclosed their name as Faizan Fayaz bhat s/o Fayaz Ahmad bhat R/o Budden Rafiabad Sopore and yawar nizam Mir s/o Nizamuddin Mir R/O konsoo shopian.Arms and ammunition including 02 Pistols, 02 Pistol Magazine, 02 Grenade,20 9mm live rounds , 1AK 47 magazine and 50 AK live rounds have been recovered from their possession, police added further.
During further questioning, they revealed their association with proscribed militant organisation LeT and
Case FIR No. 39/2022 under relevant of sections of law stands registered in Police Station imamsahib and further investigation into the matter is in progress, police added further.
