Two Dead, One Injured in Landslide on Mata Vaishno Devi Track
KATRA, Sept 2: In a tragic incident this afternoon, a landslide on the Mata Vaishno Devi track near the Panchi Helipad claimed the lives of two women pilgrims and left a minor girl seriously injured.
The incident occurred around 2:40 PM when a large boulder fell on the track, leading to the instant death of one pilgrim. According to sources from the Press Trust of Kashmir, the force of the boulder also damaged the railing of the track, causing two other pilgrims to fall into the adjoining gorge. Both sustained critical injuries; one later succumbed to her injuries, while the minor girl is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
