Srinagar August 4 (PTK) The twin blows of August 05 last year and the Covid-19 fallout have left people connected with tourism industry devastated, said former CM and vice president National Conference Omar Abdullah.

He said that in order to feed their families, some like these pony wallas have became timber Smugglers.

“The twin blows of Aug 5th 2019 and the COVID fallout have left people connected with the tourist industry economically devastated. Some like these pony wallas have turned to timber smuggling to feed their families,” Obdullah Tweeted.

Pertinently Kashmir Chamber of Commerce in a recent statement has said that in last one year Kashmir valley has lost over 40,000 crore due to lockdown and over 5 lakh people are job less.(PTK)
