Teenage boy dies, four critically injured due to electric shock in Budgam village

Budgam, June 07 (PTK): A teenage boy died due to an electrical shock while as four persons were critically injured due to an electrical shock in Aaripanthan village of Magam in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday while they were repairing transmission pole.
As per an eyewitness, the incident took place in Bunpora area of Aaripanthan on Friday morning when some locals were repairing transmission pole in the area. “We were repairing a transmission pole and suddenly pole came in contact with high voltage line, five locals were in direct contact with pole and they suffered injuries,” he added.
Soon after the incident, the injured were taken to Sub-District Hospital Magam where doctors referred them to Srinagar hospital after they found their condition critical. One among the injured later succumbed. The succumbed person was identified as Shakeel Ahmed Dar, resident of same village.
The other injured were identified as Muhammad Rafiq Bhat son of Ghulam Nabi, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Muhammad, Javaid Ahmad Bhat son of Mehraj u Din Bhat, Sonullah Bhat son of Ghulam Muhammad and Muhammad Rafiq Mir son of Abdul Rashid Mir, all residents of Bunapora Aripathan. Police officials when contacted said that they was launched a probe into this matter and investigation is on.
The locals alleged that the incident took place due to negligence by concerned department. “The incident would’ve been prevented if the men of concerned department have done job,” said a local.(PTK)
