Successful Conduct of 1st National Lok Adalat of 2025 in District Kulgam

Press Trust of Kashmir| Kulgam :- Under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and as per the directions of the J&K Legal Services Authority, the 1st National Lok Adalat of 2025 was successfully organized today in District Kulgam. The event was held under the chairmanship of Aijaz Ahmad Khan (Principal District & Sessions Judge/Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Kulgam).
The National Lok Adalat was formally inaugurated by the Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, in the presence of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Kulgam, Sub Judge/Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Munsiff/JMIC, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, and members of the Bar Association, Kulgam.
During the Lok Adalat, a total of 1,174 cases pertaining to Motor Accident Claims (MACT), family disputes, revenue matters, traffic challans, bank cases, electricity disputes, and water bills were taken up for settlement. Out of these, 405 cases were amicably settled, and an amount of ₹59,38,620 was awarded in different cases.
The District Legal Services Authority, Kulgam, reiterated its commitment to ensuring speedy and amicable dispute resolution and promoting justice at the grassroots level. The initiative was highly appreciated by the legal fraternity and litigants, reaffirming the significance of Lok Adalats in reducing case pendency and facilitating access to justice-(PTK).
