Srinagar Police solves theft cases, 03 arrested
Srinagar Police arrested 03 persons for the offences of theft in different cases registered in Rajbagh Police Station.
Police Station Rajbagh received two written complaints from two persons namely Sajad Ahmad Jan resident of Kursoo Rajbagh and Wajahat Amin Bhat resident of Batpora Sopore wherein they stated that some unknown thieves have stolen their Motorcycle bearing registration No. JKOIR-7107 and Scooty bearing registration No. JK05E-4363 from Jawahar Nagar and LD Hospital respectively.
Accordingly, case FIR No’s. 21/2019 and 66/2019 under relevant sections of law were registered and investigation in these matters were initiated.
During the course of investigation, officers identified one suspect namely Kiyaas Ahmad War son of Fayaz Ahmad War resident of Baki Aaker Handwara. When the officer spoke to him, they learnt about his involvement in both the theft cases. Officers also recovered stolen motorcycle and scooty and handed them over to their rightful owners after legal formalities.
Meanwhile another complaint was received by Police Station Rajbagh from one person namely Nazrul Islam resident of Kangan Ganderbal stating therein that he has purchased one BMW vehicle bearing registration No. DL1CM-6235 from two persons namely Shahid Ahmad and Sahil residents of Kolkata and paid Rs.2.50 lacs for the vehicle. However they later stole the same vehicle and escaped away from Rajbagh area.
A case FIR No. 75/2019 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Rajbagh. During the course of investigation, both the accused persons were arrested and stolen vehicle was recovered from their possession.
Pertinently a SIT headed by SHO PS Rajbagh was constituted to investigate these cases under the supervision of SDPO Sadder. SIT was able to work out these cases with considerable success.
Our consistent actions against anti social elements should reassure the community members that we are making every effort to keep our society free of crime. Police has resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
