Srinagar Police Concludes T-20 Cricket Tournament Under Civic Action Programme

Srinagar, May 10 (PTK): Jammu and Kashmir Police successfully concluded a T-20 Cricket Tournament at SP College Ground in Srinagar under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025-26.

The tournament, which commenced on April 4, witnessed enthusiastic participation from sixteen teams representing different areas of Srinagar district.

The closing ceremony was presided over by SSP Srinagar G. V. Sundeep Chakravarthy along with senior police officers. Officials said the tournament served as a platform for young cricketers to showcase their talent while promoting sportsmanship, positive youth engagement and stronger police-public relations.

In the final match, Team District Police Srinagar emerged victorious after defeating Team Kreshbal Strikers in an exciting contest marked by discipline, teamwork and sporting spirit.

To recognise outstanding performances, trophies, medals, mementos and cash prizes were distributed among winners and runners-up by the SSP Srinagar.

The winning team received a trophy and a cash prize of ₹20,000, while the runner-up team was awarded a trophy along with ₹10,000. The “Man of the Series” was also felicitated with a trophy and cash award for his exceptional performance during the tournament.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Srinagar appreciated the enthusiasm and discipline displayed by participating teams and thanked the local community for their support and active participation.

He said such events help identify local sporting talent and play an important role in strengthening police-community relations by engaging youth in constructive activities.

Srinagar Police reiterated its commitment towards promoting community-centric initiatives and strengthening public outreach under the Civic Action Programme.(PTK)
