SIU Srinagar Files Chargesheet Against Accused in NIA Court

SRINAGAR (PTK) : The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Srinagar has submitted a chargesheet against two accused individuals, including a local terrorist currently evading arrest, in Case FIR No. 37/2023 before the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Court in Srinagar.

Official told news agency Press Trust of Kashmir that, the chargesheet, numbered 02/2024, pertains to sections 4/5 Exp. Sub Act, 13, 18, 20, 23, 38, 39 UA (P) Act of Police Station Kothibagh Srinagar. Among the accused are Mohd Rangrez, son of Ab Rashid Rangrez, a resident of Firdousabad Batamaloo, presently in judicial custody at Central Jail Srinagar. The second accused is Momin Gulzar Mir, son of Gulzar Ahmad Mir, a resident of Firdous Colony Eidgah Srinagar, identified as an active ‘A’ category local terrorist and currently absconding.

The SIU has urged the Hon’ble Court of NIA Srinagar to take cognizance under section 299 CrPC accordingly. The next hearing is scheduled for March 16, 2024.
