Seven more test positive for COVID-19 in J&K; toll rises to 62

SRINAGAR:-01-APRIL(PTK) Seven more COVID-19 cases were detected in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, prompting the administration to further tighten the restrictions on the movement of people.

Seven more patients have tested positive for the Coronavirus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 62, the official spokesman said.

“#COVID19 cases have risen to 62 in Jammu & Kashmir out which 58 are active cases. Out of 58 active, 48 cases have been reported in Kashmir division, 10 are in Jammu. 17041 people are under active surveillance,” said Rohit Kansal, Principal Secretary (Planning), J&K in a press conference at Jammu

With these fresh cases, the total number of patients tested positive for the deadly virus in Jammu and Kashmir has risen to 62. While two among them died, two have recovered so-far.

A woman from the old city Khanyar area of Srinagar, who became the first case of the COVID-19 disease in Kashmir, has now tested negative for the novel disease.

As per the daily information bulletin 17041 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 10355 persons are in home quarantine.

As per the bulletin, 52 persons kept in hospital isolation and 516 persons have kept under hospital quarantine.

Furthermore 2157 persons have completed surveillance period and 3961 are under are under home surveillance.

According to the bulletin on novel coronavirus, 977 samples have been taken so so far, out of 977, 901 are negative while as 62 are positive and report of 04 samples is yet to come.

Moreover out of 62 positive patients 12 are from Jammu including one recover and 50 are from kashmir division with one recovery and two dead.(PTK)
