Sakeena Itoo Distributes Appointment, Promotion Orders in Srinagar; Reaffirms Commitment to Merit-Based Opportunities

Srinagar, May 12 (PTK): Minister for Education, Social Welfare, Health and Medical Education Sakeena Itoo on Monday distributed appointment orders among 25 Contingent Paid Workers (CPWs) of the School Education Department regularised as Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and promotion orders among 14 Laboratory Assistants promoted as Teachers at the SCERT Auditorium Bemina in Srinagar.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the government led by Omar Abdullah is committed to ensuring fair opportunities based on merit and transparency for the youth and employees of Jammu and Kashmir.

She stated that nearly 3,000 CPWs had been regularised during the past one and a half years, reflecting the government’s sustained efforts towards employment security and career advancement for employees.

“Employees are the backbone of every institution and their dedication is vital for delivering quality education and effective public service,” Sakeena Itoo said.

The Minister stressed that transparent and merit-based promotions help recognise employees’ hard work and motivate them to contribute more effectively towards institutional growth and better service delivery.

She also highlighted several reformative measures being undertaken to strengthen educational infrastructure, improve learning outcomes and address genuine concerns of teaching and non-teaching staff.

Congratulating the employees who received appointment and promotion orders, the Minister urged them to continue working with sincerity and dedication for the betterment of the education sector and future of students.

Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, who was also present on the occasion, said several employees had been waiting for regularisation for more than 25 to 27 years.

He said the government has adopted a systematic and phased approach to resolve long-pending cases and added that similar orders had recently been issued in both Jammu and Srinagar.

Nasir Aslam Wani reiterated that the government is prioritising the education and healthcare sectors to improve public service delivery and fulfil legitimate expectations of employees.

Among others present were Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, Director School Education Kashmir Naseer Ahmad Wani and Joint Director School Education Central Kashmir Syed Shabir Ahmad.

Earlier, the Minister and Advisor also distributed bicycles among meritorious students and students belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families who had excelled in examinations of various classes.(PTK)
