Ramban Adm starts distribution of Digital Land Passbooks

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR RAMBAN, JULY 30: To strengthen and promote e- governance system, District Administration Ramban provided varied online services to the public at their doorsteps during the celebration of Digital J&K Week.

As part of these initiatives and as a reform in the public service delivery of the Revenue Department, the District Administration Ramban has started to issue Land Passbooks to the legal owners of the land.

After handing over the Passbooks to owners of land of two villagers namely Badhol and Pari of Tehsil Ramban, ACR , Viqar Giri termed the JK Land Record Modernization initiative as a historical step towards transparency and Good Governance. He described the initiative as a milestone towards improving Services delivery and enforcing transparency and accountability in the working of the Revenue department.

He said that the Land Passbook with Urdu, English and Hindi description of land records is aimed  to fill the information vacuum and promote people’s ease of access to the revenue record.

He also observed that the Land Passbook will provide Revenue related information to the land owners in a very simple form, besides shall act as a valid paper to present before financial and other institutions.

The ACR informed that land passbooks will be issued to all landowners in the district in the coming days.

Tehsildar Ramban, Rafiq Ahmed, Naib Tehsildar, Muzaffar Javid and several other officials of the Revenue department were present on the occasion.
