Another militant likely injured

SRINAGAR (PTK):- A militant has been killed in a gunfight between security forces and militants in Kandi area of Rajouri in Jammu division.

An official said that militant has been killed while as other militant is likely have received injuries and search operation is on in the area.

Earlier, an official said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering a gunfight.

During initial stage of gunfight, five soldiers were killed while operation is on and Defence Minister and other officials are likely to visit Jammu today to review the situation.
