Prime Minister Modi Pays Tribute to Kargil War Martyrs on 25th Anniversary

 

DRASS : Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to the Kargil war martyrs on Friday, marking the 25th anniversary of India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1999 conflict.

At the Drass War Memorial, the Prime Minister laid a floral wreath in honor of the brave officers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

On July 26, 1999, the Indian Army declared the successful conclusion of “Operation Vijay,” signaling victory after nearly three months of intense combat in the icy heights of Kargil, Ladakh.

This day, celebrated as ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas,’ commemorates India’s triumph and the valor of its armed forces in the war against Pakistan.
