World Post Day Observed on October 9, Theme Highlights Global Postal Connectivity

Srinagar, October 9 (PTK) ;World Post Day is observed every year on October 9 to commemorate the establishment of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in 1874, recognising the important role postal services play in connecting people and communities across the world.
The day highlights the contribution of postal networks in facilitating communication, delivering letters and parcels, supporting businesses, and providing essential services to people in both urban and rural areas.
The theme for World Post Day this year is “One Postal Network, Infinite Possibilities,” emphasising the importance of a connected global postal system and the opportunities it creates for communication, trade, and public services.
Postal services continue to play a significant role in connecting people, particularly in remote and rural areas, while adapting to changing needs through digitalisation and modern delivery systems.
