Police organises volleyball tournament under Civic Action Programme in Handwara
February 18(PTK): Police in Handwara organised a thrilling volleyball tournament at District Police Lines Handwara as part of the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025–26. The initiative aimed to promote sportsmanship, strengthen community engagement, and foster a positive police-public relationship.
The tournament, which commenced earlier this week, witnessed enthusiastic participation from local teams, highlighting promising young talent from across the region. The final match, held today at DPL Handwara, attracted a large gathering of sports enthusiasts who passionately cheered for their favorite teams, adding vibrancy and excitement to the event.
During the closing ceremony, SSP Handwara Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS accompanied by senior officers including the ASP Handwara and DySP DAR DPL Handwara, distributed trophies and medals to the winners and runners-up. All participating teams were also commended for their dedication, discipline, and sporting spirit throughout the tournament.
The Civic Action Programme (CAP) is a flagship initiative designed to bridge the gap between the police and the public by fostering mutual trust and encouraging positive youth engagement through sports and recreational activities.
