Police arrests drug peddler in Sopore, contraband substance recovered
Press Trust Of Kashmir Srinagar November 08: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested a drug peddler in Sopore and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police Party of PP Bus Stand Sopore under the supervision of SDPO Sopore during naka checking at Ahad Baba crossing intercepted a person in a suspicious manner. During checking, officers were able to recover 216 Spasmoproxyvon Plus capsules from his possession. He has been identified as Umer Amin Banday son of Muhammad Amin Banday resident of Gousia Colony Noorbagh, Sopore. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 252/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation has been taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
