Prime Minister Narendra Modi is gearing up for a significant visit to Kashmir next month, with plans to address a public rally in the southern district of Anantnag.
As Sources reports to Press Trust of Kashmir that PM Modi’s visit is slated between March 7 and March 15, during which he will engage with the public at a rally in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
While there’s a push from BJP’s Kashmir unit for an additional rally in Srinagar, no final decision has been made yet, according to a BJP leader familiar with the PM’s itinerary. The exact date of Modi’s arrival in Kashmir is expected to be announced shortly.
This marks PM Modi’s second visit to Jammu and Kashmir since February 20, when he addressed a massive public gathering in Jammu, unveiling projects worth ₹32,000 crore across various sectors.
During his previous visit, PM Modi inaugurated multiple development initiatives spanning education, railways, aviation, and roads. Additionally, he handed over appointment letters to around 1500 newly recruited government employees and engaged with beneficiaries of various government schemes as part of the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu’ program.
The upcoming visit is anticipated to witness the inauguration, dedication, and laying of foundation stones for numerous projects valued at around ₹13,375 crore, aimed at bolstering education and skilling infrastructure nationwide. These initiatives include road projects, bridges, grid stations, sewage treatment plants, degree college buildings, and more across various districts like Anantnag, Kulgam, Kupwara, Shopian, and Pulwama.
PM Modi’s visit to Kashmir underscores the government’s commitment to comprehensive development and engagement with the people of the region.
