Operation Drugs Free Ganderbal Continues
In its ongoing campaign against drug trafficking, the J&K Police District Ganderbal has arrested a notorious drug peddler and seized a significant amount of contraband substance within the jurisdiction of Police Post Nagbal.
Acting on the directions of SSP Ganderbal, Shri Sandeep Gupta-IPS, and under the supervision of Shri Gh Hassan-JKPS Hqr’s Ganderbal, a police team led by I/C PP Nagbal conducted a naka checking at Warpahoo Shuhama link road. During the operation, a vehicle bearing registration number JK01AQ 3910 was intercepted. Upon searching the vehicle, the police recovered 3.476 kilograms of a charas powder-like substance. The contraband was seized, and the driver, identified as Abdul Qayoom Wani, son of Ali Mohammad Wani of Yangoora Ganderbal, was arrested on the spot.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 157/2024 at PS Ganderbal, and further investigation is underway.
The Ganderbal Police urges community members to share information about drug peddlers with the J&K Police. This collective effort aims to create a crime-free society and protect future generations from the scourge of drug abuse.
