Omar Abdullah Reaches Delhi, Set to Meet Amit Shah and PM Modi on Key J&K Issue
Srinagar, Oct 23: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday for high-level meetings with senior leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. This marks Abdullah’s first visit to the capital since assuming office as chief minister of the Union Territory.
Sources revealed that Abdullah is scheduled to meet Home Minister Amit Shah this evening. His meeting with Prime Minister Modi is expected to take place tomorrow, during which he is likely to present a significant resolution passed by his cabinet.
On October 17, the Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet unanimously approved a resolution urging the central government to restore full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. The cabinet has entrusted Abdullah with the responsibility of conveying this resolution to the Prime Minister and the Centre.
The restoration of statehood remains a crucial demand for the region, and these meetings are anticipated to have a major impact on the future political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
