Police not involved in Harassing people

SRINAGAR  JULY (PTK)Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir range Vijay Kumar Friday said that top Jaish-e-Muhammad commande, was killed among two others in an encounter at South Kashmir’s Kulgam.

He was one among the top 12 commanders and most wanted militant in J&K, he said.

Addressing a press conference at Srinagar,IGP Vijay Kumar said today’s encounter is a big success for the security forces as Waleed Bhai was active for the past one and a half years and was operating in South Kashmir areas including Qazigund highway stretch.

“We have recovered a US made M-4 carbine from the slain Jaish commander. His killing big achievement for us,” he said

olice doesn’t target the family members of militants nor does it indulge in any sort of harassment to them, IGP was reacting on a video message of Lashker militant Sajad who released a video recently in which he alleged that forces are harassing militant families.

He said police is working for peace and will continue to track more active militants.

“There is one more Pakistani militant whose name is Adnan Bhai alias Lamboo Bhai, who is also an IED expert of Jaish, he said adding that efforts are on to track more militants.

This year so far over 130 militants have been killed including six top commanders.(PTK)
