No Terror incidents in Last 5 Years: Ram Madhav
JAMMU, Feb 12 (PTK): BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav Tuesday said that there had been “no terror incident” in the last five years and the NDA government had given a “sense of security to the nation.”
He also stated that there “can be no government without BJP in J&K as and when assembly elections are held.”
Madhav, joined by BJP’s vice-president & incharge J&K state Avinash Rai Khanna, was here to kick start party’s “Mera Parivar, Bhajpa Parivar” campaign in the state.
Madhav also accused the Kashmir-centric PDP and National Conference of, what he said, “doing dual politics” and said, “This time in Kashmir the electorate will vote only for those, who will stand with India. The BJP will create such a situation there that the speakers against the country shall not come forward.” He said there was no other party which could fight for the cause of Jammu than BJP in Jammu.
“This was evident from the rally of 3 February Modi rally where lakhs of people thronged to rally. This is the reason Congress is trying to fight elections together with parties like PDP, NC in Jammu as a part of “Mahamilawat” alliance. Congress has accepted its defeat before the elections. They know that in the absence of this move, there will be no taker for them in Jammu,” Madhav said.
Later talking to reporters on the sidelines of the party event, Madhav stated that the NDA government gave India a “sense of security.” The BJP national general secretary said, “The surgical strike carried out by the Indian army in 2016 had conveyed a strong message to terrorists. We have given a sense of the security to this country. We have ensured a strong security setup in the country. There has been no terror incident in this country in the last five years.”
Comparing the NDA with the previous governments, Madhav said, “Earlier Pakistani terrorists used to come inside our country, engineer terror attacks and kill civilians.” He added that no terrorist was allowed to enter India and carry out an attack during the NDA government’s tenure. “Instead we entered their country and taught them a lesson,” Madhav said. “By undertaking the surgical strike, we have conveyed a strong message to them. We told them what can happen if they indulge in any mischief.”
The BJP leader asserted that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government had a strong policy against terrorism and was committed to “moving in the direction of neutralising the last terrorist in the valley.” Madhav said the NDA government ensured security, honour and dignity for the country.
He also hit out at the opposition, accusing it of “obstructing Modi from moving towards realising the dream of a New India.” Madhav said the government’s report card was before the people and it had put in place such security measures that no riot took place in the last five years.
On the economic front, he claimed, India was the only developing nation with a growth rate of 7.2 percent. He said India would emerge as one of the world’s three biggest economic powers.
Earlier Madhav and Khanna initiated “Mera Parivar, Bhajapa Parivar” campaign in J&K by hoisting flag party flags at different places across the state.
Madhav initiated the campaign, hoisted the party flag at the residence of former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta. Khanna hoisted the flag at the residence of JMC Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta. State president Ravinder Raina was also present on the occasion along with other senior leaders. In the state of Jammu & Kashmir, BJP organized several programmes attended by the senior national and state leaders to mark the beginning of the campaign which will be continued for coming weeks.
Khanna, while speaking on the occasion, said that under the “Mera Parivar, Bhajpa Parivar” campaign, Bharatiya Janata Party, had envisioned to reach up to the grass root level of every region across the nation. “It is the symbolic expression that the BJP is not just a political family, but a closely knit family that is bounded by the feelings of emotions and the very feel of each other, caring for need, while sacrificing own pleasures and wants for the sake of one greater family, our motherland,” he said.
Ravinder Raina, in his address to the workers said that the wrong and anti-Jammu policies of the opposition parties led to the chaos in Jammu and Kashmir and surely BJP would win more than 25 seats in assembly elections and all the Parliamentary seats from Jammu and Kashmir.
