Narcotics Seized in Rajouri; Chhattisgarh Man Arrested

 

The Jammu and Kashmir Police in Rajouri district apprehended a man from Chhattisgarh, Umesh Kumar Sahu, and recovered 9 kilograms of narcotics from his possession. The arrest occurred during a routine naka (checkpoint) set up by the police at Kallar Chowk on the Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch national highway.

 

Sources told news agency Press Trust of Kashmir that, a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigations are underway. The police are committed to tightening the noose around drug trafficking in the region.

 

This arrest highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement in curbing the menace of drug smuggling.
