Narco-Terror Module Busted in Kupwara’s Karnah, 3 Arrested: Police

Kupwara, June 15 : Jammu and Kashmir police have reported the dismantling of a narco-terror module in the Karnah area of Kupwara district, resulting in the arrest of three individuals and the recovery of heroin along with arms and ammunition.
According to a police spokesperson, authorities received intelligence indicating an individual was seeking buyers for heroin. In response, a joint operation by the police and the Army was conducted in Karnah, leading to the apprehension of two suspects with 500 grams of heroin.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Shafeeq Ahmad Sheikh, son of the late Mohd Shafi Sheikh of Khawarpara Karnah, and Tariq Ahmad Malik, son of Gh Ahmad Malik of Baghballa.
Further investigations uncovered the involvement of Parvez Ahmed Pathan from Sadhpura, who was found in possession of three pistols, 76 pistol rounds, six pistol magazines, and five kilograms of suspected explosives. Parvez was apprehended during a joint raid by the police and the Army.
An FIR has been registered, and further interrogations and investigations are ongoing, the spokesperson added.
