National Conference leader Omar Abdullah passionately defended Mian Altaf Ahmad’s candidacy for the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat, dismissing claims that Ahmad is an “outsider” to the constituency. Abdullah criticized media outlets for attempting to sow discord between his party and the PDP, emphasizing the collaborative stance of the opposition INDIA bloc. He refuted suggestions that the National Conference’s decision to contest all three seats in Kashmir was influenced by external pressures, citing past electoral victories as the basis for strategic decisions.
