Drug Peddler Arrested in Ganderbal; Contraband Substance Recovered

Ganderbal, May 29 (PTK): Continuing its sustained campaign against drug abuse under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, J&K Police in Ganderbal arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession during a naka checking operation in the jurisdiction of Police Post Nagbal.

According to police, a naka was established at Dignibal near the Old Water Supply Scheme, Bakura, where a suspicious individual was intercepted and subjected to checking.

During the search, police recovered Bhung Patri Powder (ganja-like substance) from his possession.

The accused has been identified as Abrar Ahmad Parray, son of Mohammad Ismail Parray, a resident of Nagbal, Ganderbal. He was immediately taken into custody and shifted to the police station for further legal proceedings.

In this regard, a case under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been initiated.

Police reiterated its commitment to eradicating the drug menace from society and appealed to the public to extend cooperation by sharing information related to drug peddling and other narcotics-related activities.(PTK)
