Mankotia calls on LG Sinha; Submits memo
Press Trust of Kashmir | JAMMU/UDHAMPUR: Former MLA, Balwant Singh Mankotia called on Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha and submitted a memorandum to him at Raj Bhawan, Jammu. Several social, political, developmental & unemployment issues were discussed.
Mankotia told that the way minorities are being targeted in Kashmir, it is a matter of concern that the government will have to take strict steps and ensure their safety, apart from this Mankotia said that Kashmir’s airport is an international airport, but Jammu airport could not get the status of international airport even after the allocation of funds. Jammu has not been able to get even a quarter of the share of the UT, discrimination has been done against Jammu in that too, Mankotia added
Mankotia also expressed concern over unemployment and apprised Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha that today the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are unemployed even after doing PhD, NET, JRF etc. and posts are vacant in many departments. Appealing to the Lieutenant Governor, Mankotia said that fasttrack recruitment policy should be brought for unemployed students. Mankotia demanded from the Lieutenant Governor for the construction of new bridges at Birma and Thathi, along with this Mankotia told that the way the class IV posts were recruited in Jammu and Kashmir in the past, but even today one and a half year They have not been appointed even after One year, apart from this, Mankotia demanded that on the pattern of Kathua Medical College, Newly sanctioned Medical college for Udhampur should be operational in District Hospital, Mankotia raised the issue of Sub standard material used in Devika Project & slow pace of the work due to which people cannot get out of their homes for the last two-three years. The road has been uprooted many times, demands to regularise daily wagers, redress the issues NYC and REHBR E KHEL employees, as well as widening of Dhar road, drug issue, traffic jam, multi storey parking, scarcity of water supply and un schedule power cuts, solid waste management and Udhampur Subash stadium issues were also discussed.
Tarun Chauhan, General Secretary, Udhampur Table Tennis Association was also present on this occasion, who also submitted a memorandum to the Lieutenant Governor demanding to transfer of Table Tennis to Khelo India Coaching Center from Ramnagar to Udhampur Headquarter.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha after listening to all the demands, assured that he would soon take steps to fulfill these demands.(PTK).
